Scott H. Kitchel, M.D. is an orthopedic physician and surgeon specializing in the spine.
Scott received his medical degree from the University of Oregon Medical School in Portland, Oregon, completed his surgical internship at Bexar County Hospital in San Antonio, TX and his orthopedic residency at the University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio, TX. His fellowship training in spine surgery was completed at the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, FL.
In addition to being a highly-recognized practicing physician and surgeon, Scott is an active researcher, participating in clinical studies and presenting papers at a variety of medical, surgical, orthopedic, and sports medicine conferences and symposiums. His commitment to continuing education activities keeps him abreast of the latest technologies and techniques related to adult and pediatric spine surgery. His wealth of knowledge and experience also makes him a popular lecturer and medical faculty member. Scott's public speaking and research presentation are in demand internationally, and he has served as a faculty member and supervisor to orthopedic residents at Oregon Health Sciences University, an attending physician at Shriners Hospital, and a visiting professor at the Mayo Clinic.
Scott founded Orthopedic Spine Associates in 2002 to focus on his speciality of adult and pediatric spine surgery. In his spare time Scott enjoys travel, fly fishing, Christian service, and is an avid fan of the University of Oregon's Duck Athletics.
